Program Details

The CNA program at Genanscot Services is designed to prepare students for certification with the State of Michigan. The program incorporates both classroom instruction and clinical practice. Notably, the program offers discounts for low-income or indigent students and has a buddy system for additional savings. The facility also serves as a testing site for Headmasters, adding convenience for students seeking certification.

Admission Requirements

Enrollment in the CNA program requires several steps and documents. Applicants must complete all necessary forms and undergo an interview process. While a high school diploma or GED is not mandatory, students must have reading skills at a 6th to 8th-grade level. A recent physical exam, background check, and health checklist are required. Students should also provide immunization records and complete a TB skin test. The program accepts students who are at least 18 years old (or 17 with parental consent), and who are physically capable of performing the duties required.

Instructor Expertise

The program is led by a team of experienced professionals, including Diane Cottle, RN, MSN; Jennifer Moore, RN; and others with over 100 years of combined nursing experience. The instructors are trained under Michigan’s “Train the Trainer” workshop, ensuring high-quality education and support throughout the program.

Additional Training Services

In addition to CNA training, Genanscot Services offers specialized programs including long-term care survey preparation, nurse management training, and director of nursing training. They also provide CPR and AED training, infection control programs, and other healthcare-related educational services. These offerings aim to equip healthcare professionals with essential skills for various roles within the industry.
